Herd Namibia is a Namibian-owned and operated business based in Windhoek, Namibia. Your booking contract is with Herd Namibia, Windhoek, Namibia. You can reach us any time at hello@herdnamibia.com.
A 35% deposit secures your seat. The deposit is payable within five days of booking.
The balance is due 45 days before departure. We send a reminder well before it falls due.
Up until the 45-day point you can still adjust your booking, and the deposit is recalculated automatically.
Prices are per person, in euros. The Next departure (11 – 21 February 2027) is EUR 3,300. 2027 departures are EUR 3,900. International flights are not included.
The earlier you tell us, the less it costs you:
More than 60 days before departure: you lose the deposit only. 60 to 45 days before departure: 50% of the trip price. 45 to 30 days before departure: 75% of the trip price. Fewer than 30 days before departure: the full trip price.
The schedule tightens because campsites, vehicles, crew and excursion operators are committed well in advance, and close to departure those costs are already spent whether a seat is filled or not.
If you cannot travel, you are welcome to pass your seat to someone else at no charge up to 7 days before departure.
We strongly recommend travel insurance that includes cancellation cover. It is not a condition of booking, but it is the difference between a bad month and an expensive one.
If Herd cancels a departure, everything you have paid is refunded in full, or you can transfer to any other departure at no charge. If a departure does not reach its minimum group size, we will tell you no later than 45 days before it is due to run, and the same full refund or free transfer applies.
The full list of what your seat price includes and excludes is on the website with each departure and in the FAQ. The short version: vehicle, camping kit, guide, chef, listed activities and park fees are in; flights, travel insurance, visas, lunch and daytime drinks are not.
You drive a Toyota Hilux 4x4 with comprehensive insurance. What is and is not covered is set out in the FAQ and confirmed with your booking. Driving is optional - guests share each truck and can swap drivers as they like.
The lead guide’s decisions on route, timing and safety are final. If a guest’s behavior puts the group at risk, we may remove them from the convoy without refund. Namibia is remote country: you travel at your own risk within the limits of the insurance described above, and you are responsible for your own travel documents, vaccinations and personal medication.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia.
